The city was founded in 1886. The city's name is derived from its circular main street, the scene of annual automobile races during 1913-1916. Several religions are practiced in Corona. Crossroads Christian Church is one of the largest in the nation. It is in the Pacific Standard time zone.

Corona is a city situated in Riverside County, California, United States. It is located at 33°52′31″N, 117°33′56″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 35.2 square miles (91.1 km²), of which, 35.2 square miles (91.0 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (0.06%) is water. As per the 2000 Census, there were 124,996 people, 37,839 households and 30,384 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,555.5 people per square mile (1,372.7/km²).
